The ADA Commission is part of the City of Yuma’s ongoing commitment to accessibility and inclusion. This page provides information about the Commission’s purpose, membership, meetings, and how residents can get involved.

The ADA Commission serves as an advisory body to the City of Yuma. Its role is to assist the City in implementing the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); review the accessibility of City programs, services, facilities, and communications; and provide input on policies, projects, and practices that advance equal access for individuals with disabilities.

The Commission was established by the Yuma City Council to help ensure that accessibility remains an organizational priority and that community voices are represented in the City’s ongoing accessibility initiatives.

The ADA Commission advises the City Council, Mayor, and City departments on accessibility policies, priorities, and initiatives. The Commission reviews City projects for inclusion, gathers public input, and monitors implementation of accessibility programs.

In addition to providing recommendations, the Commission helps raise community awareness about disability rights and inclusion and supports outreach campaigns designed to promote equal opportunity for all.

The ADA Commission meets regularly throughout the year. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held quarterly on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:30  at Yuma City Hall (One City Plaza, Yuma, AZ) and are open to the public.
