How do I obtain a copy of a police report?
You may request a police report in the ways listed below. When submitting a request for a police report, please include as much information as possible for research purposes. This will help us to ensure you receive the timeliest service possible. If we have any clarification questions or need additional research information, we will contact you at the number or email you provide.
- Online – you can complete the Request Form online and submit it to email@example.com via email. You will be notified when your request has been received by our Records Bureau.
- By Email – you can forward an email to firstname.lastname@example.org requesting a copy of a report. Your email should contain as much information as possible for research purposes (name, contact information, case number, location of incident, date/time occurred, parties involved).
- In Person – you can come to the Police Department in person to submit your police report request with the Records Bureau. The Records Bureau is open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- By Mail – you can mail a written/typed request to the following address. Your request should contain as much information as possible for research purposes (name, contact information, case number, location of incident, date/time occurred, parties involved).

How much will a police report cost?
Copies of police reports can be provided in three different formats. Please indicate which format you would like to receive your copy in when submitting your request.
Email Copy – There is no charge for an emailed copy of a report. However, due to size constraints, reports larger than 10 megabytes cannot be sent via email.
Compact Disk Copy – $5.00 per disk. Reports larger than 700 megabytes will be placed on additional disks and charged accordingly.
Paper Copy - .25 per page. If requesting your report on paper or compact disk, you will be notified when the report is ready to be picked up.
