Skateboarding and Hockey Rinks
The City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department maintains one skateboarding facility and one hockey rink.
These facilities are located at Kennedy Park at 23rd Street and Kennedy Lane, accessed from 24th Street.
Kennedy Skate Park has numerous features within its design. There are many first generation concrete structures that were opened in 2000 and numerous modular skate components that the City of Yuma received through a generous donation by the Destiny Church in 2010. Some of the original pieces include a concrete bowl, two bank pipes, half pipe, numerous grind rails and various transitional concrete structures. The added pieces from the donation consist of a large half pipe, four bank ramps and a center obstacle piece. On a daily basis year round, rain or shine, it is enjoyed by countless people and is a wonderful facility that compliments Kennedy Park’s other amenities such as the in-line hockey rink, sand volleyball courts, 50 meter swimming pool and giant slide, along with numerous ramadas and picnic areas.
