City of Yuma Councilmember Cody Beeson
Phone: (928) 373-5002
Fax: (928) 373-5004
Councilmember Cody Beeson was elected in 2007 and re-elected in 2011 with over 60% of the ballot cast each time.
Cody was raised in Yuma, Arizona and graduated from Kofa High School in 2003. After seeking higher education at Full Sail University in winter Park, Florida, he earned a degree in recording engineering. It was then that Cody chose to return to his home town of Yuma to start a business of the same nature. Today, that business has developed into a full-service marketing company.
Cody took an interest in local government and politics at an early age. It was that interest that impressed upon him the desire to serve the public. Cody has been quoted as saying, "Staying informed with local current events shapes your life and the world around you. I feel I can play a positive role in shaping the future."
One of the things that inspired Cody to run for City Council was the desire to provide diverse options for our youth to ensure they are equipped to make the right choices for their future. A strong city will have options and choices that enforce a positive development and play a key role for our whole community. Speaking from experience, Cody says, "Yuma is a great place to grow up and I want the youth growing up here today to have pride in their community."
Cody currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Yuma Metropolitan Planning Organization (YMPO), Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area, Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) and is Chairman of the Board for the Yuma Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA). Cody has previously served on the Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation Board, the Arizona/Mexico Commission Board, the International Alliance "No Contamine/Don't Trash La Frontera" Board and the Toastmasters International Board. Cody is a member of the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce, Yuma Visitor's Bureau and NexGen.
