The City of Yuma Fire Department always has at least one trained fire investigator on duty or on call, to respond to fire incidents and determine where and how the fire started. The department has a total of seven trained fire investigators.

The City of Yuma Fire Department prepares a report for all events it responds to including fires, hazardous materials, emergency medical services, technical rescues and public assistance. Specifics to the event are needed to retrieve the report, in particular the date, time, and nature of the emergency.
