Solid Waste Rate Adjustments:
In 2018, the Yuma City Council approved new residential solid waste fees, which include charges from trash collection and environmental waste services. These changes were made to cover the costs of collection and were outlined in City of Yuma Resolution 2018-002. Through Resolution 2018-002, Solid Waste may increase fees annually by 3% or the current Consumer Price Index (CPI), whichever is less. In the Bureau of Labor Statistics Report dated March 2025 the Water, Sewer and Trash CPI increase for the period of March 2024 to March 2025 is 4.9%. As 3% is less than the CPI of 4.9%, the fee increase will be 3%.
The FY 2026 budget is scheduled for adoption on June 18, 2025.
The residential collection fee is scheduled to increase from $7.88 per month to $8.12 per month. The environmental solid waste fee will be increasing from $8.16 per month to $8.40 per month.
