The City of Yuma has appointed John Louser as its next Fire Chief following a comprehensive national recruitment process. Louser, who has served as Acting Fire Chief since September, brings more than 25 years of fire service experience, including over 22 years with the Yuma Fire Department.

Kennedy Skate Park will temporarily close for a full rebuild beginning Monday, December 8, with a reopening in late spring 2026. The park will undergo demolition and reconstruction for long-term durability and quality for years to come. These improvements will take place at no cost to the city
