We, at the Customer Services Divison, are committed to providing you excellent customer service, through efficiency and performance.

From this page you can start or transfer new residential utility service. The services provided can include water, sewer and/or sanitation.

 


 

Homeowner

A minimum of 2 business days advance notice is requested to turn on or transfer utility services. Applications are available electronically by clicking here, or in person at the Customer Services counter inside City Hall, located at 1 City Plaza, during regular business hours. Please note, failure to provide required information/documents, will delay the connection of service.

Required Information:

  • Proof of Ownership
    • Deed, closing disclosure or settlement statement
  • Copy of valid identification(s) for all those listed on ownership documents
    • State issued ID, driver’s license and/or US Passport)
  • Social Security numbers for all those listed on ownership documents

Deposit:

  • The deposit is based upon your credit worthiness
    • Deposit amounts range from $0 to $300
  • Must be paid prior to turning on services
  • Upon termination of water service, such deposit, without interest, will be refunded, except that any unpaid charges, including final charges for service, shall be deducted from the deposit and any excess portion of the deposit refunded.

Fee:

  • A service establishment fee of $20 plus tax, will be charged to your first bill.

 


 

Renter

A minimum of 2 business days advance notice is requested to turn on or transfer utility services.
Applications are accepted via email by clicking here, or in person at the Customer Services
counter inside City Hall, located at 1 City Plaza, during regular business hours. Please note,
failure to provide required information/documents, will delay the connection of service.

Required Information:

  • Copy of entire signed lease agreement and homeowner information
    • Must include the home owner’s name and contact information
  • Copy of valid identification for all those listed as lessee
    • State issued ID, driver’s license and/or US Passport
  • Social Security numbers for all those listed as lessee

Deposit:

  • The deposit is based upon your credit worthiness
    • Deposits range from $0 to $300
  • Must be paid prior to turning on services
  • Upon termination of water service, such deposit, without interest, will be refunded, except that any unpaid charges, including final charges for service, shall be deducted from the deposit and any excess portion of the deposit refunded.

Fee:

  • A service establishment fee of $20 plus tax, will be charged to your first bill.

 


 

Seasonal / Winter Visitor

A minimum of 2 business days advance notice is requested to turn on or transfer utility services. Applications are available electronically by clicking here, or in person at the Customer Services counter inside City Hall, located at 1 City Plaza, during regular business hours. Please note, failure to provide required information/documents, will delay the connection of service.

Advantages of this Agreement

  • Allows any Authorized signer to request a connection and/or disconnection via the phone, in person or email.
    • We do ask that you update your mailing address, phone number(s) and email(s) at the time of the service request.
  • No need to complete and sign a new Agreement every time you need the service put back into your name.

Required Information:

Applications are available electronically by clicking here, or in person at the Customer Services counter inside City Hall, located at 1 City Plaza, during regular business hours. Please note, failure to provide required information/documents, will delay the connection of service.

Advantages of this Agreement

    • We do not automatically open an account when your tenant requests services to be turned off.
  • No need to complete and sign a new Agreement every time you need the service put back into your name.

Stop Water Service

A minimum of 2 days advance notice is required. Closure of accounts can be requested by contacting Customer Services via phone, email or in person at the Customer Services counter inside City Hall, located at 1 City Plaza, during regular business hours. Only account owners can request closure of the account, disconnection of service.

If emailing, be sure to include:

  • Service address and/or account number
  • Name on account
  • Last four of social security number
  • Requested date for disconnect (cannot be a weekend or City of Yuma observed holiday)
  • Forwarding address to mail final bill and/or refund of deposit
