Neighborhood Services’ Rental Inspection Program helps create safe and livable rental housing in Revitalization Areas. Residential rental properties in revitalization areas are inspected to ensure they meet the housing quality codes, which set standards for safety and livability. When problems are discovered, the owner of the rental property is asked to make repairs. Rental Inspectors follow-up to make sure problems are corrected before rental property is given certification that it meets standards and can be rented. Rental properties in the target areas must meet the 2012 International Property Maintenance Code Standards.
