The next installment of the Yuma Art Center’s popular and frequently sold-out dinner theater series has been set, and time to purchase tickets or audition for a part is coming soon.
The Yuma Art Center is proud to present "Almost, Maine," the next dinner theater production coming to life in the art center's galleries Feb. 13-17, 2019.
“Almost, Maine” is a play by John Cariani that explores love and loss in a remote, mythical almost-town called Almost, Maine. Having been awarded a competitive theater fellowship for a second consecutive year, Ann Wilkinson returns to direct. Wilkinson directed the 2017-18 sold-out dinner theater production of "The Games Afoot" last year.
“I am thrilled to have another opportunity to collaborate with Yuma Art Center’s amazing creative team and am looking forward to discovering the cast for this charming comedy from within our very talented pool of community actors,” Wilkinson said.
This year, to accommodate the increased interest in the dinner theater event over its short history, the Art Center is adding a fifth dinner theater date to the schedule.
“Almost, Maine is going to be a fun challenge for us to present both charming and heart-wrenching love stories that are full of laughter and confusion,” said Arts and Culture Program Manager Lindsay Benacka. “This is a show anyone can relate to, and that we think is perfect for Valentine's Day.”
The cast for “Almost, Maine” includes a minimum of two women and two men, all between the ages of 20-55 years old. Those interested in auditioning and being part of the cast must be available for evening rehearsals on weekdays November through February.
