Council to conduct next meeting remotely; public asked to email comments

Public health measures taken to prevent community spread of the COVID-19 virus will alter the way City meetings are conducted.

Consistent with the March 13, 2020 Arizona Attorney General opinion relating to Arizona’s Open Meeting Law and COVID-19, in order to protect the public and reduce the chance of COVID-19 transmission, the April 15, 2020 regular City Council meeting will be conducted remotely through technological means.

As there are no public hearings scheduled, City Council Chambers will be closed to the public.

Members of the public may view the meetings live streamed via the City of Yuma website, through the Yuma Live Playlist link and the City of Yuma government cable television channel 73. On-demand video of the meetings will be available through the City’s website after the meeting.

Public comment regarding any agenda item shall be limited to those provided in written format to the City Clerk at email address no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled meeting. Please reference the agenda item in the subject line of the email.

Comments received timely will be read into the record when the referenced agenda item is discussed.

The worksession previously scheduled forApril 14 has been canceled. As no speakers signed up for a citizen's forum, that has been canceled as well.
