Yuma, Ariz. – The City of Yuma is embarking on a project assessment and feasibility study for the possible relocation of the Yuma County Fairgrounds, in collaboration with the Yuma County Fair Board, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Yuma County and the Yuma County Airport Authority.

There will be a public open house on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Yuma County Aldrich Auditorium, located at 2351 West 26th Street.

The public is invited to meet with the consuting team, voice their input regarding their participation in events held at the Yuma County Fairground, and to share their opinions on the proposed relocation facilities.

No specific site has been selected for the possible relocation of the fair, however, the consultants will be identifying and analyzing several sites in the Yuma area.

Utilizing funds from the State of Arizona Military Affairs Commission and the Department of Defense's Office of Economic Adjustment, the City of Yuma issued a request for proposal, or RFP, for professional consulting services to conduct this study. A consulting team has been commissioned to complete this work.
