City swim lessons still available for summer

Morning and evening classes held at Marcus Pool and Carver Pool

Post Date:06/01/2026 2:08 PM

The City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department has spots available for summer swim lessons for all skill levels.

Morning sessions are held at Marcus Pool (545 W. 5th Street) and evening sessions are held at Carver Pool (1250 W. 5th Street). Classes are designed to help swimmers build confidence, develop water safety skills, and continue improving their ability in the water.

The cost is $28 for City of Yuma residents and $42 for non-residents.

Scholarships are also still available for children ages 6 months to 5 years. A limited number of scholarships remain available for select sessions, and families interested in scholarship opportunities should contact the Parks and Recreation Department directly for more information on current availability. Scholarship requests may also be made by visiting the department in person, as they cannot be processed online.

“Swim lessons are more than fun—they're a life-saving skill,” said A.J. Mosqueda, Parks and Recreation Manager. “Give your child the confidence and tools to stay safe in and around the water for a lifetime. Our community is fortunate to have scholarship opportunities available—take advantage of them and sign up today!”

To register, visit yumaaz.gov/parksandrec, call 928-373-5200, or stop by the Parks and Recreation Department on the first floor of City Hall.
