The City of Yuma invites the community to attend Yuma Salutes America’s 250: A Star-Spangled Celebration this Saturday, April 18, from 3 to 11 p.m. at Desert Sun Stadium (1280 W. Desert Sun Drive).
The event will celebrate America’s 250th birthday with live music, family-friendly activities, food vendors, a dedicated kids zone, and a patriotic drone show.
Gates open at 3 p.m., with live music from hometown artist Bobby McClendon beginning at 4:30 p.m. Mayor Doug Nicholls will provide remarks at 6:20 p.m., followed by the MCAS Yuma Color Guard and National Anthem. Parmalee performs at 7 p.m., the drone show begins at 8:45 p.m., and headliner Randy Houser closes the night at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are still available and may be purchased online at yumaaz.gov/america250, at the Parks and Recreation Department inside City Hall, or at the event. General admission is $25 plus taxes and fees, and children 12 and under are free.
A clear bag policy will be in effect. Clear bags may be purchased in advance at the Parks and Recreation Department in City Hall, the Yuma Art Center, or on site at the event. Guests may bring blankets and chairs for use on the field.
Outside food and beverages, alcohol, glass containers, and coolers are not permitted. Small coolers for medically necessary items will be allowed and may be subject to inspection. Pets are not allowed, except for service animals.
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, weapons are not permitted. Security personnel will be present at entry points, and standard screening measures, including handheld devices, may be used upon arrival.
