The City of Yuma invites the community to come together for a day of music, family-friendly activities, and patriotic pride during Yuma Salutes America’s 250 – A Star-Spangled Celebration, happening Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 3 to 11 p.m. at Desert Sun Stadium (1280 W. Desert Sun Drive).
Held in honor of America’s 250th birthday, this once-in-a-generation event places Yuma among communities nationwide commemorating this historic milestone – while offering a uniquely local celebration designed to bring residents, families, and visitors together.
The event is being held in April to take advantage of Yuma’s spring weather. Later in the year, the City will continue its long-standing tradition of hosting an annual Fourth of July celebration, which will feature an even bigger fireworks display in honor of America’s 250th birthday.
As part of the Yuma Salutes America’s 250 event, live music will be featured, beginning with hometown artist Bobby McClendon, known for songs such as “Built to Last,” “Ready for the Worst,” and “Did it to Myself.”
As the celebration continues, Parmalee will take the stage with six No. 1 singles and multiple platinum records, performing fan favorites such as “Carolina,” “Take My Name,” and “Cowgirl.”
Later in the evening, Randy Houser will headline the event with a career that includes more than one billion streams and a string of hits including “How Country Feels,” “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” “Boots On,” and the CMA Song of the Year-nominated “Like a Cowboy.”
Beyond the music, attendees can enjoy a variety of food, non-alcoholic beverages and beer for sale, a dedicated kids zone, and a patriotic drone show honoring America’s birthday.
“As Yuma is one of the most patriotic American cities, I’m excited to celebrate America’s 250th birthday together!” said Mayor Doug Nicholls.
