Mayors and elected officials representing the 4FrontEd region host riders from throughout Yuma County, Southern California, regional tribal nations, and Northern Mexico in this annual event. This year, more than 400 participants are expected, with some coming from as far away as Tucson and Ensenada.
The ride begins at the Yuma Civic Center, with the entire group stopping at Cocopah Korner, Somerton, Gadsden and San Luis before crossing the border into Mexico. Each stop will offer water, snacks and restroom facilities. The ride concludes with a finisher’s celebration in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico - featuring live music, local food, and medals for participating cyclists.
“This event has become a tradition for our international area, demonstrating the interconnected relationships of the region,” said Yuma Mayor Doug Nicholls. “Come and ride with me and the other local leaders.”
On-site check-in and registration will begin at 7 a.m. at the Civic Center. A completed waiver is required to participate. Riders should also bring proper documentation for crossing and returning through the U.S.- Mexico border, along with:
- A bicycle and helmet
- Sunscreen and comfortable attire
- Light belongings only (limit large bags or backpacks)
YCAT will provide return transportation for the group traveling from San Luis Rio Colorado to the Yuma Civic Center. Riders who prefer a more flexible schedule are encouraged to arrange their own transportation home or back to their vehicle after the event.
