From Sunday December 17, 2023 through Saturday December 23, 2023, the Yuma Fire Department responded to 393 emergency calls for service:
11 Fire Responses including date trees on fire as well as smoke originating from an exhaust fan
Tips on exhaust fan fire prevention include:
- Do not leave exhaust fans on unattended or overnight
- Install timer switches so fans do not run continuously
- Discontinue use if exhaust fans sound abnormal and then have them replaced
- Clean exhaust fans regularly
6 Mutual Aid Responses to assist fellow agencies
18 Special Duty and Public Assistance Responses including various alarms
26 Motor Vehicle Crashes including 6 that occurred on the highway, 2 T-bone style collisions, and 1 involving a wall
332 Medical Responses including: 11 for abdominal pain, 11 for upper extremity pain, 25 for lower extremity pain, 6 for alcohol overuse, 10 for altered levels of consciousness, 8 for anxiety, 6 for psychological distress, 18 for chest pain, 2 for back pain, 5 for strokes, 21 for difficulty breathing, 1 for an allergic reaction, 5 for drug overdoses, 9 for headaches or head pain, 4 for heart problems, 9 for blood pressure issues, 14 for pain, 11 for seizures, 8 for dizziness, 3 for diabetic emergencies, 1 for a traumatic brain injury, 3 for dehydration, 9 for fainting, 21 for injuries, 14 for weakness, and other illnesses and injuries.
