On Monday November 14, 2022, at 8:35 pm, the Yuma Fire Department responded to the 400 block of South Main Street regarding a reported burn victim in the area. YFD personnel located an approximately 60 year old female who had been burned when her dress was ignited by a campfire. The victim was treated by YFD Paramedics at the scene. She was then transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for additional treatment and later flown to a Phoenix area hospital.

Any outdoor fire must always be closely monitored and attended. Clothing or other combustible items should always be kept at least three feet from any campfire. Always be sure of the local fire restrictions and conditions, and always be sure campfires are completely extinguished.
