Parks & Recreation

The City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department maintains over 600 acres of parks and facilities, including 32 parks, 8 neighborhood basin parks, 9 athletic complexes, 2 golf courses, 19 City buildings, a gymnasium, outdoor courts, and volleyball courts. Amenities include playgrounds, BBQs, ramadas, benches, tables, water features, and walking paths.

Divisions include Grounds Maintenance, Urban Forestry, Downtown Mall, Baseball Complex, Golf Course Maintenance, Graffiti Abatement, and Facilities Maintenance.

This park located close to the Colorado River features picnic tables, barbecues, a ramada, and restrooms. It is also located next to the Riverside Cottage Outdoor Education Center. This cottage has a small open area classroom/meeting room. The center is located north of Riverside Park and is within walking distance to the Colorado River.

The Yuma Territory Live Steamers is a 1/8 scale railroad club. Currently, there are 3,000 feet of track in Riverside Park.Their public rides operation schedule is the 2nd and 4th weekends of the month; Saturday, and Sunday 10 AM to 3 PM from October through May.If you would like to visit or are interested in their organization visit yumalivesteamers.org.
