The City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department maintains over 600 acres of parks and facilities, including 32 parks, 8 neighborhood basin parks, 9 athletic complexes, 2 golf courses, 19 City buildings, a gymnasium, outdoor courts, and volleyball courts. Amenities include playgrounds, BBQs, ramadas, benches, tables, water features, and walking paths.

Divisions include Grounds Maintenance, Urban Forestry, Downtown Mall, Baseball Complex, Golf Course Maintenance, Graffiti Abatement, and Facilities Maintenance.

At the end of Madison Avenue in Historic Downtown Yuma. With the shade provided by the freeway bridge, the river beach is a popular swimming spot in the summer. There’s a sandy beach for castle building, picnic ramadas, restrooms – and an outdoor shower to rinse off before you leave.
