Parks & Recreation

The City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department maintains over 600 acres of parks and facilities, including 32 parks, 8 neighborhood basin parks, 9 athletic complexes, 2 golf courses, 19 City buildings, a gymnasium, outdoor courts, and volleyball courts. Amenities include playgrounds, BBQs, ramadas, benches, tables, water features, and walking paths.

Divisions include Grounds Maintenance, Urban Forestry, Downtown Mall, Baseball Complex, Golf Course Maintenance, Graffiti Abatement, and Facilities Maintenance.

Marcus Pool is 25 meters by 25 yards with an 800 square foot leisure pool.

  • Marcus Pool is available for seasonal party rental. Contact the Parks & Recreation department for details on availability.
  • Open Swim – Unstructured Family Fun Swim, Summer ONLY (June and July)

Aquatics programs take place in municipal pools operated by Yuma Parks and Recreation and include: Diving, Swim Lessons, Lifeguard/Swim Lesson Instructor Training, Public (Open) Swim, Scuba,  Swim for Fitness, Water Aerobics, Aqua Zumba, Water Athletics and two year round swim teams Yuma Heat and Aquaforce.

Valley Aquatic Center, Carver, Kennedy and Marcus Pools are all available for seasonal party rental.  The Valley Aquatic Center even has its own party room named "The Aquarium," with an ocean-themed décor.  For information about rates and availability, please contact the Parks & Recreation office. When you're ready to reserve a pool for your event, simply fill out a POOL RENTAL FORM and e-mail it to the Parks & Recreation Department PARKSANDREC@YUMAAZ.GOV ,  fax it to 877-782-2584 or hand-deliver it to the Parks and Recreation office at Yuma City Hall.
