For 20 years the National Parks and Recreation Association has designated the month of July as Recreation and Parks Month. Recreation facilities and parks across the country annually use July to celebrate the kick-off of summer programming as well as a time to pull their communities together to volunteer, get involved in great outdoor physical activities and advocate for parks and recreation.

Happy little boy celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month with parents.

The Yuma Parks and Recreation Department touches the lives of individuals, families, groups and the entire community, which positively impacts the social and economic health and environmental quality of our community.  We urge all citizens to celebrate by participating in their favorite leisure and recreational activities or by attending a recreation program or event in one of our parks.

Need some things to do in July?

Check "The Fun Starts Here,"  play some golf at Desert Hills Golf Course (summer rates apply), go to one of our Family Dive-In Movie Nights at Marcus pool, see a Scorpions baseball game at the Ray Kroc Baseball Complex.  Have a picnic at your neighborhood park, play volleyball at Kennedy Park Spike Night or go swimming and go off the big slide at Kennedy Pool.  We promise - there is something for everyone to do in July!
