The first draft of the City of Yuma 2012 General Plan is complete and ready for discussion. The development of this first draft has included a technical review to update population data, utility infrastructure, city and community services, adopted facility plans and City Council direction.
Below are links to the 13 chapters of the draft General Plan that addresses 17 separate elements. As specified by State Statutes, the 17 elements cover a range of issues, from water resources to open space, from transportation to housing.
Chapter 1, the Introduction, is a good place to start a review of the documents. This will provide information on each chapter and allow readers to focus their review and comments on those areas of the most interest. Many of the chapters include maps, such as major roadways, and these can be found at the end of the each relevant chapter.
