City Hosts National Softball Tournament This Weekend

The 2010 ASA Men's Class "A" 16-inch Slow Pitch National Tournament is coming to the Kennedy Athletic Complex and we want YOU to be a part of it! Head down to the fields Friday thru Sunday (September 3rd through September 5th) to cheer on your favorite local team and to see the out-of-town competition! The championship game will be held Sunday evening, complete with a Color Guard salute and fireworks. Come see the "Best of the West" compete for the National Western title. Admission required; best bet is to get the all-tournament pass for $6 each.

Darn That Storm!

Joe Henry Park will remain closed through the Labor Day weekend due to the damage from the storm from last week and for our patrons' safety.

Celebrate Yuma at Yuma Art Center Galleries

This will be the last opportunity to see the best of local Yuma artists as they interpret the lives, times, and local environment of Yuma. See outstanding sculptures, photographs, and paintings of local sights, hangouts, and oddities as portrayed by artists from the area. Also, an opening reception will be held for a new exhibit of works from students in this past summer's Art Camp for kids here at the Yuma Art Center on Friday, Sept. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. upstairs in the emerging artists gallery at the Yuma Art Center, 254 S. Main St.

Take Pride in Yuma

There were 38 cases of graffiti abated the week of Aug. 25-31; there were 54 the prior week.

Graffiti cleanup and vandalism currently costs the Yuma taxpayers over $200,000 per year. Please help us reduce vandalism by reporting incidences of crime to 78-Crime (782-7463) and graffiti to the Graffiti Busters hot line, 329-2828. If you witness a crime in progress, call 911.
