Water Line Flushing May Cause Reduction in Water Pressure for Some Residents
Yuma, Arizona - Residents of the Ocotillo subdivision may experience a slight drop in water pressure as a new 40th Street water transmission line being installed by a City of Yuma contractor, is chlorinated and flushed.
"As part of the construction and installation of the 40th street water transmission line we need to chlorinate and flush the new line", said Shawn Wittenberg, Senior Engineering Technician, for the City of Yuma. "This part of the project is going to take place Tuesday, August 24th and Wednesday August 25th. The testing may cause the residents of Ocotillo and the other subdivisions along the 40th street corridor between Avenues 5E and 6E to experience a slight drop in water pressure due to the amount of water needed to perform the test."
The testing should be completed by early afternoon on both days.
City of Yuma utility customers outside of these areas should not see any change in their water pressure.
The City of Yuma appreciates the cooperation of our residents as we continue to improve our community's infrastructure.
