Each year the City of Yuma receives approximately $1 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for housing and community development programs. In order to receive these funds, the City must complete a Consolidated Plan, which details how the money will be spent over the next five years. In addition, the City must comply with the Federal Fair Housing Law. In the past, CDBG dollars have funded homeownership assistance programs, public facility improvements, home repair programs and public services that assist low income and people with special needs.

We Need Your Input

The City has begun drafting the 2011-2015 Consolidated Plan and resident input is vital in determining the community’s needs. The economic and social needs in Yuma continue to change and the new Consolidated Plan priorities must reflect those needs in order to effectively address them.

Residents can participate by completing an online Resident Survey, attending a public meeting on September 27th at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Neighborhood Center and/or by providing written comments at either of the addresses below.
