Businesses in the general vicinity are open and access is available via 24th Street, Lakin Avenue and Palo Verde Street.

East 24th Street School Zone Changes

The stretch of 24th Street between Desert Mesa and Otondo schools will be treated as one school zone, rather than two separate school zones.
32nd Street Drainage Improvements, Delayed Start - ADOT Project
The start of the ADOT drainage improvement project along the north side of 32nd Street between Avenue 2-1/2E and Pacific Avenue has been delayed as crews complete other projects but could begin within the next 1-2 weeks. Catch basins will be installed to control the potential for road flooding. The street may be reduced to one lane in each direction through the duration of the project to provide a safe work zone. Once under way, work hours will be between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Casa Manana Neighborhood
Speed table installation and lane striping along Camino Alameda are all that remains of this project. Crews are expected to wrap up their work within the next week.

Eastbound I-8 is expected to reopen in August 2010. Eastbound traffic will be shifted using a temporary paved detour constructed in the interstate median just east of Foothills Parkway and then shifted back at Dome Valley. Traffic entering the interstate at Dome Valley will not be affected by the closure. Wide loads are restricted to 12 feet, with the only available detour at this time being SR 85 to I-10 to U.S. 95.

The City of Yuma wishes to advise area motorists of an upcoming road resurfacing project by Imperial County, Calif., that will affect traffic north of the 4th Avenue Bridge to the intersection of Winterhaven Drive and Picacho Road. This project could start as soon as Friday, July 30.
