Avenue 6E Sewer Interceptor at 32nd Street
Sections of 32nd Street have been closed at Avenue 6E as part of a sewer line interceptor project. During this portion of the project, 32nd Street traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction in that section. Avenue 6E remains closed immediately south of 32nd Street; detour using Avenue 5E. The week of July 26, work will shift to the north side of 32nd Street, but lane restrictions will remain in place on 32nd Street.
Avenue 3E, 24th Street to 32nd Street
Avenue 3E is closed between 24th Street and 32nd Street for widening and resurfacing. Motorists who frequent 3E for through traffic should detour using Pacific Avenue, or Araby Road if approaching from the east. Businesses in the general vicinity are open and access is available via 24th Street, Lakin Avenue and Palo Verde Street. This project will also include the replacement of the 24th Street pavement from Avenue 2½E to Avenue 3E in the upcoming weeks
Street Maintenance, Avenue 3E from 32nd Street to 40th Street
The City's asphalt maintenance crews will complete the crack seal and grinding operations of Avenue 3E this week.

- Giss Parkway from 4th Avenue to 1st Avenue
- 24th Street from Avenue A to Avenue B
- 18th Street from 4th Avenue to Avenue A
- Carver Area

East 24th Street School Zone Changes
Motorists should be advised that the digital speed limit signs on East 24th Street between Avenue 7E and Avenue 9E have been replaced with more traditional speed limit signs indicating the presence of a school zone and that a school zone speed limit of 25 mph will be in effect when the signal above it is flashing. The stretch of 24th Street between Desert Mesa and Otondo schools will be treated as one school zone, rather than two separate school zones.
32nd Street Drainage Improvements, Pacific to 3E - ADOT
ADOT drainage improvements are taking place in front of Yuma County Fairgrounds on 32nd Street. Catch basins are being installed to control the road flooding that can occur. The street may be reduced to one lane in each direction through the duration of the project to provide a safe work zone. Work hours are scheduled between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-September.
40th Street Water Transmission Line, Avenue 3E to 6E
The intersection of 40th Street and Avenue 4E remains closed for another week as the water transmission line project progresses. 40th Street has been closed between avenues 3-1/2E and 4E and east-west traffic should use either 32nd Street or County 13th Street.
16th Street widening - ADOT project
Traffic along 16th Street remains restricted to one lane in each direction between Yuma Palms Parkway and Arizona Avenue as work proceeds on both bridges. Please plan ahead to reach your 16th Street destination.
Avenue B, 3rd Street to 8th Street-Qwest
Lane restrictions will occur on Avenue B between 3rd Street and 8th Street for Qwest repair work.
Casa Manana Neighborhood
Residents should watch for traffic control devices during the final phases of construction on this project.

Work is under way on sewer lines in a general area between 1st and 8th streets and avenues B to C.
I-8 Rock Fall Containment at Telegraph Pass - ADOT
ADOT has closed eastbound I-8 and shifted all traffic to the westbound roadway. The existing westbound I-8 lanes will be used to move both eastbound and westbound traffic during the closure. Eastbound I-8 is expected to reopen in August 2010. Eastbound traffic will be shifted using a temporary paved detour constructed in the interstate median just east of Foothills Parkway and then shifted back at Dome Valley. Traffic entering the interstate at Dome Valley will not be affected by the closure. Wide loads are restricted to 12 feet, with the only available detour at this time being SR 85 to I-10 to U.S. 95.
