Drop by for a serene lunch and try out a daily special which could be anything from lobster chowder to a gourmet grilled ham and cheese sandwich!

Desert Hills is also hosting a Luau 6 to 9 p.m. July 23 featuring an authentic Hawaiian buffet for $20. Please purchase tickets in advance; for more information, please call Rita at 373-5231.

Places We're Making Better

The Parks Division is updating the landscaping on the northeast corner of the Heritage Branch of the Yuma County Library District, 3rd Street and 3rd Avenue. Desert landscaping is being installed in preparation for a statue donated by the Mexican Consulate. That planted area will have an enhanced appearance suited to that corner.

In the West Wetlands, Parks Crews are clearing invasive vegetation. This will not only make areas more accessible, but it will also create safer habitats for native species.

Take Pride In Yuma

There were 45 cases of graffiti abated the week of July 7-13; this compares with 38 the prior week.

Graffiti cleanup and vandalism currently costs the Yuma taxpayers over $200,000 per year. Please help us reduce vandalism by reporting incidences of crime to 78-Crime (782-7463) and graffiti to the Graffiti Busters hot line, 329-2828. If you witness a crime in progress, call 911.
