"March On" Run and Fun Walk Complete Results

Over 130 people participated in the 5K and 10K "March On" run and fun walk.

The March On Race for 5K/10K runners and fun walkers is the fifth and final run counting toward point totals for area runners. Over 130 runners ranging in age from 6 to 90 hit the course on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Walkers also enjoyed a brisk fun walk.

Runners were broken up into male 5K & 10K and female 5K & 10K categories by age group: 9 and under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80-89 90+. Medallions were awarded to gold, silver and bronze winners in each age group.
Series Champions
March On was the last in the 2009-2010 5K / 10K series. The Series Champions are as follows:
- 5K Male: Seth Chacon 9 and under, Hayden Harmon 10-12, Wade Ellis 13-15, Shane Hengesh 16-19, Francisco Almadova 20-29, Shaun Chapman30-39, Jim Mount 40-49, Greg O’Donnell 50-59, James Patrick 50-59, Colin Goodman 60-69, and Bruce Mills 70-79.
- 5K Female: Sabrina Borland 9 and under, Miah Powers 10-12, Laura Moeduano 16-19, Melissa Hamm 20-29, Bridgett Allen 30-39, Robyn A. Murray 40-49, Cookie Wagter 50-59, Joyce Brown 60-69, Evelyn Mills 70-79.
- 10k Male: Clemente Morales 13-15, Fernando Gudino 16-19, Kyle Smitt 20-29, Louie Uhl 30-39, Tony Daniel 40-49, Esteban Ortiz 40-49, Mark Niblack 50-59, Tom Armer 60-69, George West 70-79, and Philip Birdick 90 and over.
- 10K Female: Keegan Quintana 10-12, Alva Sainz 13-15, Fabiola Gomez 16-19, Andrea Cholak 20-29, Martha Guzman 30-39, Dawna Batson 40-49, Pam Walsma 50-59, and Heather Owsinaski 60-69.
The first event in the 2010 – 2011 5K / 10K run and fun walk series is the Moonlight Run currently scheduled for Friday, October 8, 2010. Stay tuned for complete information coming later this summer.
About The Series
At the end of the five-run-series, individuals with the highest number of points in each age bracket (the winner must have participated in more than one race) receive a plaque and every fun walker that has participated in all five events also receives a plaque. At each event the first place finisher receives 20 points, second place receives 15 points, third place receives 10 points and the remaining participants receive five points.
