8th Street, Avenue A Main Focus Of Week 1

Yuma, Ariz. - The City of Yuma Streets division will begin its fog seal program Monday, March 15.  It will last for several weeks.

Fog seal is a fresh oil spray used to extend life of street pavement 3 to 5 years.

The primarily affected areas during the first week lie generally along 8th Street between avenues A and B, and along Avenue A between 1st and 5th streets.

Fog seal program schedule

  • Monday: prepare vehicles and traffic control devices, deliver notices.
  • Tuesday: Fog seal Avenue A from 1st Street to 5th Street.
  • Wednesday: 8th Street from Avenue A to Magnolia Avenue, outside lanes.
    Avenue A from 5th Street to 8th Street, one-third of roadway on the west side.
  • Thursday: 8th Street from Avenue A to Magnolia Avenue, 3 center lanes.
    Avenue A from 5th Street to 8th Street,  one-third of roadway in the center.
  • Friday: 8th Street from Magnolia Avenue to Avenue B, outside lanes.
    Avenue A from 5th Street to 8th Street, one-third of roadway on the east side.

Get your own 2010 Census Decal...

The City of Yuma has partnered with Yuma County and the local US Census office to distribute Census decals around the community. The decals are small hand-shaped that say, "Arizona It's In Our Hands" in both Spanish and English; they will be available on a first come first received basis from now until mid-April. You can have your own Census Decal by contacting Greg Hyland at (928) 373-5023 or via e-mail.
