On 03-04-10 at 2052 hours Yuma Police and Fire personnel responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at Avenue B and 13th Place.Contact:
On 03-04-10 at 2052 hours Yuma Police and Fire personnel responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at Avenue B and 13th Place. Preliminary investigation revealed that Ms. Cynthia G. Skye (age 50 - new resident to the Yuma area) was crossing Avenue B at 13th Place when she was struck in the #2 southbound lane by a 2004 Honda passenger car driven by Mr. Michael Dickson II (age 27, of Yuma). Ms. Skye was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center but succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Consumption of alcohol/medication is believed to be a factor on the part of the decedent, but not the driver. Vehicle speed is not believed to be a factor. This case remains under investigation.
