Heavy Equipment In Use North Of 1st Street

The multi-use pathway adjacent to the East Main Canal is closed north of 1st Street to all users between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Thursday of this week.

The Yuma County Water Users Association are working on the west side of the canal using a dump truck and an excavator.  The heavy equipment poses a possible safety hazard for bicyclists, joggers, runners, walkers, etc., prompting the path's closure during working hours.

After working hours, when the equipment is stationary and not in use, the path will be open to users.

Work is expected to be complete by Friday. Once work is complete, the pathway will be open.
