Online Bidding For Some Items, Including Harley-Davidson Motorcycles

Yuma, Ariz. - The 2010 City of Yuma Public Auction will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at the city yard at 190 W. 14th St.

Miscellaneous items including but not limited to grounds equipment, cell phones, cameras, car stereos, TVs and VCRs, office equipment (including furniture), computers (desktop and laptop), printers, game systems, electric and hand tools, jewelry, collectors' items (including coin and baseball card collections) and more will be up for bids.

Surplus property belonging to the City of Yuma is disposed of in a manner as required by state law and the Yuma City Charter, through public auctions, competitive sealed bids or other appropriate methods.

Items to be auctioned are generally in good condition but are no longer needed due to such reasons as changes in staff, changes in usage or passing their budgeted life span. However, all items in the City of Yuma Public Auction are sold "as is, where is," and must be picked up by 10 a.m. March 4.

A number of high-value items, including retired police Harley-Davidson motorcycles, are currently available for bidding via an online auction that can be found under the Business section, City Bid Opportunities tab of the City's web site, http://www.yumaaz.gov/. If the Harleys fail to meet the reserve price in the online auction, they will be available during the live auction Feb. 27.

Those wishing to examine items available for bidding and/or to register for participation in the auction can do so at the city yard between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26.  Those who wish to participate in the Feb. 27 auction should arrive before 9 a.m. to obtain a bidder's card, which is free to participants.  Gates open 8 a.m. Feb. 27 and registration will be taken at that time.
