Injury Accident At 11th Street And 5th Avenue

On Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at about 1645 hours a rollover accident occurred at 11th Street and 5th Avenue.

On Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at about 1645 hours a rollover accident occurred at 11th Street and 5th Avenue. 

A Volkswagon Jetta sedan, driven by 34 year old Verenisse Contreras of Yuma, was traveling south on 5th Avenue.  A Ford F350, driven by 61 year old Naomi Salo of Yuma, traveling east on 11th Street failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign and drove into 5th Avenue.  The Jetta struck the Ford F350 causing it to roll onto its roof.  Two females were extricated from the Ford and transported to the Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  No occupants of the Jetta were transported.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this accident.
