Endangerment/Misconduct with Weapons

On 2-9-10 it was reported to the Crane Middle School Administration that a student may have a gun on campus.  Around 0918 hours Crane Middle School went into a lock-Down.  A lock-down is when all students are held in a certain classroom or location until such time as it is deemed safe to move about the campus.

The investigation revealed that a juvenile student had brought a gun to school with the intent of using it before school at a location away from campus.  The juvenile did not use the gun at the location and proceeded to school where he gave it to a friend to hold.  The gun was placed into a school locker where it was later located by school Administrators and the School Resource Officer.  The two juveniles who are 7th grade students at Crane Middle School were arrested, questioned and booked into YCJCC on charges of endangerment, Misconduct involving weapons, and disruption of an Educational Facility.

The Yuma Police Department encourages anybody with any further information about this case to please call the Yuma Police Department at (928) 783-4421 or 78-Crime to remain anonymous.
