Sports Turf and Equipment Show Returning For 17th Year

Tips For Homeowners On Up To Pros

Yuma, Arizona - Yuma Parks and Recreation and the Sports Turf Managers Association of Arizona (STMA) present the 17th Annual Sports Turf and Equipment Show from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Yuma Civic Center.

Geared toward everyone from the professional turf manager to the home dweller who just wants some tips on lawn care, Turf Show seminar topics include irrigation; creative outdoor lighting; innovative ideas in graffiti abatement; tree selection and planting.

Registration for the Sports Turf and Equipment Show is $10 per person.  Advance registration is encouraged.  Please call ahead with a credit card to register at (928) 373-5243. On-site registration is available at the Turf Show from 7 to 8 a.m. the day of the event.

Among the Sports Turf and Equipment Show vendors are Hunter Irrigation, Yuma Nursery, Simpson Norton and Ewing Irrigation; however, vendor applications are still being accepted. Vendor registration and setup is $75 and includes lunch, one 10-foot by 10-foot space and one table.  Vendors are invited to set up displays of their turf equipment, fertilizer, safety equipment, irrigation supplies and other related products and equipment. Attendees will have an opportunity to see and learn about vendor products and, in some cases, try them out.  Please register in advance.

"We appreciate our exhibitors, vendors, and sponsors for their valued commitment to this industry and their continued participation in this event," said Larry Munoz, Grounds Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Yuma.

Turf Show sponsors include Horizon, Yuma Nursery, Simpson Norton, Hunter Industries and Golf Ventures West.

Additionally, the Sports Turf Golf Tournament will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Desert Hills Golf Course.  The cost is $60 per player and includes green fees, cart, food, and prizes. To register for the tournament please call 373-5211.
