On Wednesday November 11, 2009 shortly after 7:00 pm, a fire was reported in a house at 2269 East 25th Place.  Arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found smoke coming from the residence and all occupants had evacuated the building. The home’s laundry room was found to be on fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Fire damage was limited to the laundry room and adjacent hallway.

At the time of the fire, the home was occupied by an adult female and four children. The woman and three children were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. Their injuries appeared minor.

The fire originated in the laundry room in the area of a clothes dryer. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
