It’s almost time once again for the annual “Come Out and Play Day,” set for 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 19 at Kennedy Park. It will be a Saturday morning filled with games, activities, and swimming for children of all ages and their families to play and have fun. This is your chance to sample what Yuma Parks and Recreation has to offer, for free. The pool will be open, so don’t forget your swimsuit and towel.
Fall/Winter Schedule Of Classes Now Open For Registration
The fall/winter schedule of art classes offered through the Yuma Art Center is now open for registration. Classes start as early as Sept. 2. The Yuma Art Center’s schedule of classes is of the largest in recent years and includes offerings for all ages - tiny tots to seniors - and for all skills and interests. Topics include dance, music, visual arts, ceramics and home decorating. Seniors can participate in the “Senior Shout Out in Song” choir class. The always popular “Instant Guitar” and Instant Piano” classes once again offer hope for hopelessly busy people to learn an instrument. The Infinite Imagination Youth Theatre will again offer two wonderful musical productions for children: “Willy Wonka” and “The Jungle Book.” Special requirements apply and students interested in participating in these productions should call the Art Center for details. For more information about these and many more classes, please contact the Yuma Art Center at 373-5202 or visiting http://www.yumaaz.gov/
Time To Vote On Dog Park Name
Yuma's first fog park is scheduled to open Oct. 3, but it needs a name! Before selecting your favorite dog park name, please take a brief survey - the results will be used to develop programming and services that benefit you. Voting takes place through Aug. 28, but why not take a minute now?
