The Yuma Police Department in cooperation with Kofa High School will be hosting an Internet Safety & Predator Awareness Presentation for parents & students. The presentation is free to the public and scheduled at:

  • Yuma City Hall Room 190
  • Monday, November 17
  • 6:30 to 7:30 pm (Doors open @ 6:00)

This will be an informational session in an effort to help in preventing the victimization of our students and their families. The presentation will cover the behavior and practices of online sexual predators.  Officer Resendiz will cover many social networking sites such as Myspace, Xanga & Facebook. The presentation will aid parents in understanding and supervising their child’s Internet activity.  This session will also give attendees information on how to report an Internet crime.

The local media is invited to attend the presentation. Please arrive prior to 5:30 pm to set-up your equipment. You will have an opportunity to interview YPD Officer Erick Resendiz.
