On Thursday October 30, 2008 at approximately 10:40 pm heavy smoke was reported in the area of the 100 block South Madison Avenue.

On Thursday October 30, 2008 at approximately 10:40 pm heavy smoke was reported in the area of the 100 block South Madison Avenue. Arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found smoke and flames coming from an apartment at 118 South Madison Avenue. The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was found in the apartment.

It was reported that no one was currently living in the apartment. The interior of the apartment sustained significant smoke and fire damage, with a couch being completely destroyed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Police and Fire personnel.
