The Fire Suppression Division is the largest operating component of the Yuma Fire department. The division is comprised of 108 firefighters that are assigned to three shifts. The suppression division operates out of six fire stations throughout the city. The division handles calls for emergency medical services, fire, hazardous materials response, and specialized rescue. The suppression division handles over 13,000 calls for service during a year. The division utilizes command vehicles, fire pumpers, ladder trucks, ambulances, and specialized response vehicles.
