Call to the Public
Call to the Public is an itemized agenda category included on the regular scheduled City Council Meeting. Call to the Public is an opportunity for citizen's to sign up the same night of the meeting and speak on topics that may appear on the agenda or topics not included on the agenda. However, speakers wanting to comment on issues not listed on the agenda should be aware that the Arizona Open Meeting Law permits City Council to discuss only those items listed on the agenda. If you would like to participate in a City Council meeting, a Speaker Request Form is required. Please fill out the Speaker Request Card and return it to the City Clerk's Office prior to 5:00 p.m. on the day of the City Council meeting. Individuals may also sign up by phone, (928) 373-5035, or in person at the City Hall Council Chambers, prior to the start of each City Council meeting. City Clerk's Office staff is available in the Council Chambers, prior to each meeting, to assist with completing the form and information concerning agenda items.
The Yuma City Council values citizen comments and input; as such the Citizen's Forum venue was implemented to allow dialogue between City Council and citizens. Citizen Forum speaker request forms must be completed in advance of the meeting and must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office. If you would like to participate in an upcoming Citizen’s Forum you will need to submit a Request no later than two weeks prior to a scheduled forum so the City Clerk can properly agendize the items.
To determine the date and time for an upcoming meeting, please review the City Council Schedule of Meetings, Worksessions & Roundtables.
