The City of Yuma strongly encourages Yuma residents to drop off batteries, paints, light bulbs, chemical fluids and other items that can cause environmental damage or even health hazards if put in landfills or drains at our next collection event this Saturday.

Yuma's Household Hazardous Waste program will hold its next quarterly collection event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at the City of Yuma North Public Works Yard, 265 W. 13th St. (13th Street between 4th Avenue and 1st Avenue).

Smoke Alarm Donation

On Saturday December 5, 2015, Yuma’s Home Depot store presented the Yuma Fire Department with 250 smoke alarms valued at $2,500. The alarms were donated by Home Depot and the Kidde Company (makers of the alarms), and will allow YFD personnel to help increase the fire safety of Yuma citizens in need.
