Due to a booking conflict iwth the Yuma Civic Center, the City of Yuma’s quarterly Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection day has been moved back a week and will be held 6 to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15.

While the July collection date traditionally runs earlier than the other HHW dates each year, this Saturday’s event will run even earlier than before. Residents are asked to make note of this earlier time frame.

A City solid waste driver had to dump his load in a vacant lot this morning after discovering smoldering material.

Following a couple of “hot loads” discovered by City solid waste drivers and one melted trash can, the City of Yuma reminds residents to refrain from placing hot coals and smoldering fireworks in city garbage containers.
