A state-mandated recount of Yuma’s close election for City Council confirms that Karen Watts has been elected to the third and final seat, the City learned Tuesday.

In fact, the recount tallied votes identically to the original final count.

The Yuma Police Department wants to remind our community that on Saturday, Nov. 11the Veterans Day Parade will take place on 4th Avenue.  4th Avenue will be closed from 16th Street to Catalina Drive starting at 7 a.m. and will reopen around 11:30 a.m. Please allow yourself extra time for an alternate route if you normally use 4th Avenue or planned to use 4th Avenue this coming Saturday morning.
