Yuma Police Department recruitment drive

If you have ever considered a career as a police officer, now is the time to pursue it. The Yuma Police Department is currently looking for highly motivated individuals for both certified police officers and police officer cadets. 

The Yuma Police Department has job openings for both certified police officers and police officer cadets, and will also be establishing an eligibility list for future openings. Those interested are encouraged to apply at this time.

The minimum qualifications for a Police Officer Cadet are listed below:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age upon graduation from the academy.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph test.
  • Meet the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board standards for medical examinations and physical agility test.

  • Completion of training and Peace Officer certification with the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Board.
  • Must be 21 years of age.

  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph test.
  • Meet the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board standards for medical examinations and physical agility test.
