Thanks to a generous donation from D&H Electric, trips down the city’s largest water slide will be free one Saturday this month.
D&H will sponsor open swim from 1 to 5:45 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at Kennedy Pool, 23rd Street and Kennedy Lane (between Arizona and Pacific avenues north of 24th Street).
The D&H-sponsored day, reportedly inspired by the Yuma Rotary Club’s “100 days of kindness,” adds to donations that have allowed for free open swim days in recent summers. The Yuma Elks Lodge No. 476 donation opens Kennedy Pool for free 1 to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays through July 29. And the Yuma Rotary Club provided for free open swim sessions 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Marcus Pool through July 28.
Kennedy Pool is one of the largest City of Yuma pools and hosts the area’s tallest water slide. It also features a separate shallow pool and “water mushrooms” ideal for younger, small children.
