The Yuma Fair Housing Festival, joining the Music on Main event March 26, is an opportunity to learn about housing resources and fair housing rights from a number of experienced and informed participants.
The event, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 26 on Yuma’s downtown Main Street, covers issues such as housing services, home ownership, landlord-tenant issues, foreclosure, fair housing law, and more.
The first 50 children under age 5 may receive free health screenings and dental fluoride varnish, provided by Sunset Community Health Center between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Area housing agencies will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information on resources and programs available to help obtain and maintain housing. Many will also have games and small giveaways for visitors.
Celebrating Fair Housing Month, the Yuma Housing Festival is co-sponsored by Community Legal Services, Western Arizona Council of Governments, Housing Authority City of Yuma, the Southwest Fair Housing Council, Sunset Community Health Center the City of Yuma and Yuma County.
