Dancing with the Yuma Stars fundraiser to be held May 13

Yuma, Ariz. – The Southwest Performing Arts Foundation and the Yuma Art Center invite all residents to a competitive dance fundraiser which pairs local "celebrities" with professional dancers on the evening of Saturday, May 13. The event aims to raise funds for the Children's Museum of Yuma County.

Dancing with the Yuma Stars (DWTYS) will be a twofold event, consisting of a dance competition starting at 7 p.m. at the Historic Yuma Theatre, followed by a 1920s-themed party at the Yuma Art Center. The fundraiser will pair 10 local business and community leaders with professional dancers, also from the local community. Each pair spends weeks preparing a dance routine that will be performed live in front of DWTYS attendees. A panel of judges and votes cast by audience members will determine the winners.

The dance duos competiting in DWTYS are:

  1. Kate Rodriguez and Jon Perry
  2. Trentie Oliver and Joaquine Pina
  3. Sue Ertle and Angga Wardana
  4. Marietta Sanford and Jake Schwartz

  7. Sonny Ciatti and Megan Hoggarth
